It’s October, a month we go a bit mad, and this week we’re mad about Gus Van Sant’s PSYCHO, the 1998 shot-for-shot remake of Alfred Hitchcock’s classic thriller which replaces Janet Leigh with Anne Heche, Tony Perkins with Vince Vaughn and scary black & white photography with cute, reassuring pastels. Julianne Moore and Viggo Mortensen’s bum are in there too. The daring experimental concept fascinated us when we were younger, but how does it hold up now?
