This week, with 10 Cloverfield Lane exploding on screens everywhere, we revisit 2008’s Cloverfield, the found-footage monster movie produced by JJ Abrams and written by Drew Goddard that kept us all guessing with its innovative viral marketing campaign and the kids with their cameras and the youtubes. I don’t understand the world anymore, I’d prefer it get destroyed by a vengeful monster. Featuring TJ Miller, Lizzy Caplan and some other people who aren’t on TV shows I watch, we ran with it when it was originally released, but how does it hold up now?
